To further strengthen that goal we have launched a project with individual registration of birth weight for all live-born Landrace and Yorkshire sows in breeding herds.
One of Danish Genetics experienced breeding technicians visits the individual breeding herd every week to collect data about the animals which have ended test. At this visit the breeding technician weighs the individual animal whereby a daily gain of the animal is calculated. Besides this the breeding technician scasn the animal to measure the backfat thickness. The less backfat thickness, the higher lean meat percentage do the animal have.
Detailed and accurate semen analysis with CASA Danish Genetics and AI Station Mors have invested in several CASA systems to analyze semen. Previously we used a light optical microscope set-up but with the new technology we can obtain even more detailed analysis.
